Voglsanger 01

Even though the general store Voglsanger no longer exists, the lettering on the former store front in Herzog Friedrich Strasse is still in place as a historical artefact. In Innsbruck's old town, numerous different variations of “Fraktur” can be found. This is probably due to their Gothic character and to the presence of the Golden Roof, whose builder Maximilian I is considered the initiator behind the creation of “Fraktur”, as the first beautiful “Fraktur” typeface was created for his verse novel Theuerdank.
