Tyrolean Modernism. n the 1920s and 30s, Tyrolean modernism not only produced exciting architecture, but was also an interesting epoch between tradition and avant-garde in Innsbruck's lettering.
The stations of the Nordkettenbahn, built in 1927 and 1928 by the architect Franz Baumann, are amongst the most outstanding examples of Tyrolean modernism.
Visible from afar and perfectly in tune with the proportions of the building, the lettering “ADAMBRÄU” is set on the west façade.

The kindergarten on Egerdachstrasse was built and designed in 1928 by Theodor Prachensky (1888-1970), a renowned Tyrolean architect with focus on Modernism.
The massive school building of the Rennerschule was constructed in 1928-36 in the style of Tyrolean Modernism and shows a typeface that provides viewers with a clear contrast: a delicate, curved cursive script, made from a fine steel profile.
